28-year-old dies in high-speed crash

A 28-year-old man is dead after crashing his car into a tree on Brimorton Drive near Markham Road on Monday, Toronto police.

Allegedly the car collided with a tree, a pole, and then another tree shortly after 4 a.m., Const. Wendy Drummond said.  The car was smashed into two pieces after hitting the pole, throwing the driver and a 27-year-old passenger out the back of the car.

The passenger was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Brimorton Drive was closed between McCowan and Markham Roads for several hours Monday morning while police investigated.

“I think speed was a factor there,” said a police spokesperson at Traffic Services.  “I really can’t say much right now.”
