Ex-PC candidate in Pickering-Scarborough East accused of fraud

A former provincial Progressive Conservative Party candidate in Pickering-Scarborough East faces criminal charges stemming from a fraud investigation.

Salman Farooq Sheikh, also known as Salman Farooq, 35, of Woodbridge, was arrested March 30 and charged with 14 counts.

He was set to appear in court March 31.

Police say there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to call 416-808-1300 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.
