‘Fun little festival’ transforms Bloorcourt

The busy stretch of Bloor Street West from Shaw Street to Dovercourt Road was transformed into a pedestrian-only piazza Saturday.

The first annual Bloorcourt Arts and Crafts Street Fair, organized by the Bloorcourt Business Improvement Area, took the street over from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and featured shopping, live entertainment and fun for kids.

“It’s a fun little festival that really brings the community together,” said local resident Andrew Kuronen.

Though Bloor was closed from Shaw to Dovercourt, the street fest’s sidewalk sale stretched from Montrose Avenue in the east to Dufferin Street in the west.

“I don’t usually go into a lot of the art stores around this area, so it was a good way for me to be exposed to things I wouldn’t usually be exposed to,” Kuronen said.
