Man pleads guilty to neglecting mother

A Scarborough man accused of forcing his elderly mother to live in a garage last February will face eight months of jail time.

Kwong Yan pleaded guilty to failing to provide the necessities of life to his 68-year-old mother.

Yan’s mother was found unconscious and suffering from frostbite last winter.
