Boy mugged in Danforth and Savarin area

A 14-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after allegedly being mugged on Feb. 29.

Police say the victim was about to board a bus in the Danforth Road and Savarin Street area when he was approached from behind by a male suspect.

The suspect reportedly jumped on the victim’s back and began punching him in the head.

He then ripped the victim’s chain off his neck, but police say he fled the scene empty-handed.

The 14-year-old was brought to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

Police describe the man as being between the ages of 25 and 30, black with light complexion, around 5-10 to 5-11 tall and with a medium build.

Police are asking for public assistance in identifying the suspect.
