Daughter sought after Scarborough man stabbed in neck: police

Police are seeking a young woman who they claim stabbed her father in the neck early Monday.

Emergency crews were called to a townhouse at 783 Military Trail, just west of Morningside Avenue, around 2:15 a.m. Police say they found a 49-year-old man covered in blood holding a thick cloth to his neck.

Police say a woman stabbed the man with a sharp object after an argument and fled the scene. Canine units were dispatched, but police were unable to find their suspect.

The man was sent to Sunnybrook Hospital’s trauma centre after paramedics found a half-inch stab wound close to a main artery. He was then taken to Rouge Valley Health System with non-life-threatening injuries, and is not expected to need surgery.

As of Monday afternoon, a 22-year-old woman is still being sought for a charge of aggravated assault.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-4300 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

  • Oct. 17: Julian Richard Lee, 31, was beaten to death at an industrial park on Ellesmere Road near Markham Road. A man was visiting the area and discovered Lee next to a woman covered in blood.
