Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Scarborough

An 83-year-old man was pronounced dead when he reached hospital after being hit by a car in Scarborough on Tuesday night.

At around 9:16 p.m. on Oct. 8, the man was crossing Steeles Avenue East from the south side to the north at Turff Avenue when he was struck by a 2003 Toyota Corolla, police say.

The man is the 29th pedestrian fatality of a road accident in Toronto this year; police say.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 416-808-1900.
