Police have arrested a man in connection to an alleged sexual assault of an elderly woman.

On Oct. 13 at about 8 p.m., police responded to a report of sexual assault in the Lawrence Avenue East and Morningside Avenue area.

Police allege the man followed a woman in her 80s, forced his way into her apartment, then choked and sexually assaulted her.

Devon Wayne Anderson, 46, of Toronto, faces six counts, including sexual assault, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of failure to comply with probation, overcoming resistance, and breaking and entering.

Anderson was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 17.
