Police turn to public for info in fatal car crash investigation

Police are asking the public for information following a fatal car crash.

On Nov. 24 at about 10:15 a.m., police responded to a personal injury collision call at Eglinton Avenue East at Oswego Road.

A 45-year-old woman, driving an Infiniti, was driving westbound on Eglinton approaching Oswego. She had three other passengers with her in the car, police say.

The driver attempted to go around a TTC bus as she approached the bus stop at the corner of Eglinton at Oswego when she lost control and crossed into the eastbound lanes, police say.

The Infiniti collided with a Honda heading east, police say. Another 45-year-old woman was driving the Honda, which had one other passenger in it.

One of the rear passengers in the Infiniti, a 33-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died later that day, police say.

Four others involved in the crash were taken to hospital with injuries described as minor to moderate.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.
