Published on

A St. Lucian man has been charged in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred five years ago.

On Nov. 19, Ron Joseph Williams, 26, of St. Lucia, was extradited to Toronto for the 2008 murder of Jonathan Rodrigues, 21, of Toronto.

On Feb. 22, 2008 at about 9:40 p.m., police received a call about a shooting on Golfhaven Drive. Police found Rodrigues dead.

In March 2008, police issued an arrest warrant for first-degree murder for Mohmed Ahmed Nakhuda, then 36-years-old, of Toronto.

In May 2008, police issued similar warrants for Williams, then 20, and Duwayne Gordon, then 24, of no fixed address.

Gordon surrendered himself at 43 Division on the night the warrant was issued. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Williams is the third man in the investigation to be charged with first-degree murder. He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Ave. E. on Nov. 20.
