Post-mortem sheds no light on girl’s death

Police await further tests to determine 6-year-old's cause of death

Days after the death of a young Scarborough girl, police investigators remain in the dark after a post-mortem showed inconclusive results.

The deceased has been identified as Evangeline Adotey, 6.

Police responding to a 4 p.m. call on Feb. 3 say they found Evangeline at a Scarborough Howard Johnson hotel in a state of obvious distress. She was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

On the night of her death Evangeline was in the company of a man and a young boy, both of whom have yet to be identified, police say.

No arrests have been made as further tests are being conducted to determine the cause of death.
