VIDEO: Mississauga gets loud with ‘The Sound of Change’ charity

A teen-run organization works for global development

Dozens of music loving teens, alongside some local bands, raised the volume, and put heir hands in the air, on Jan. 31. The event raised  $600 towards international development. It was held at the Masonic Lodge in Mississauga.

The Sound of Change, a non profit organization, holds events once a month to promote artists in the Ontario music scene, as well as different charities such as Movember and Free The Children.

Proceeds from their most recent show are being sent to Colalife, said program director for The Sound of Change, Reuben Corriea.

“You can get Coca-Cola anywhere in the world, wherever you go, but you can’t get medicine,” he said.

Bands including Safe to Say, Elos Arma, Gentlemen Thieves, Huge Cosmic, and Shimmer all performed last Friday.
