North York store owner beaten and robbed

Up to eight men took part in robbery, police say

Five to eight men wearing disguises are being sought for robbing a North York clothing store and beating its staff.

On Feb. 11, the owner of The New NYC Collection on Colville Road was sent to the hospital after being beaten and bound, police say. An employee was also beaten but had only minor injuries. Six patrons were in the store at the time but no further injuries were reported.

The attackers fled the scene in an unknown vehicle with stolen clothes, leaving the battered employee and six patrons in a storage area in the back of the store, police say.

The owner of the store was beaten and had his hands and feet bound after the suspects entered the store wearing disguises at 8:05 p.m.

Police are seeking help in identifying the suspects.
