A rally for four Al Jazeera journalists jail in Egypt is taking place in Toronto on Feb. 27.
One of the reporters, Mohamed Fahmy, is a Canadian citizen, according to Al Jazeera.
The rally is to begin at 12 p.m. at Nathan Phillips Square in front of Toronto’s city hall. The Toronto event is part of a series of protests occurring today internationally, calling for the release of Fahmy, as well as Baher Mohamed, Abdullah al-Shami and Peter Greste.
Al Jazeera has also called on fellow journalists to tweet a photo of them holding up a sign saying #freeAJstaff with tape over their mouths with that hashtag.
Canadian Journalists for Free Expression will also be attending the rally and handing out t-shirts and banners.
