Unusually cold weather has unexpected effects: a maple syrup festival with no maple syrup

The annual Sugarbush Maple Syrup festival in the GTA celebrates Canada’s sweetest industry. It normally runs from March Break until early April. But the harsh 2014 weather has derailed the festive atmosphere at its two locations: Bruce’s Mill and Kortright. Attendance is down because of the cold, and sap remained frozen in the trees.
