Plans announced for new GO bus terminal on Bay Street

MTO officially unveils project which includes twin office towers, new public spaces

Ontario Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca announced plans for a new GO bus terminal at Union Station in a press conference Tuesday at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

The plans include the construction of twin office towers and an elevated public “sky park” containing new green public spaces. The development will built at 45-141 Bay St.

Del Duca lauded the project and said the new terminal would provide more options for commuters and tourists alike traveling across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

The project will be built in partnership with real-estate firm Ivanhoe-Cambridge and through Metrolinx.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2015 and completed in three years.
