Olivia Chow takes to the streets

Mayoral candidate covers the city in final hours

With less than five hours to go before polls close in the Toronto mayoral race, candidate Olivia Chow is making her way across the city and has been trending on Twitter for the past 24 hours.

Beginning her morning in Scarborough at 7:30 a.m., Chow was canvassing in the Lawrence Avenue East and Markham Road area.

Chow then made her way back downtown at 10 a.m. to cast her ballot at the Cecil Street Community Centre in the heart of the community where she lives with her 89-year-old mother.

From there, Chow moved on to Ryerson University on Gould Street and to Yonge-Dundas Square where she met with supporters and posed for pictures with passersby.

At 2:30 p.m., Chow made her way over to 1090 Wilson Avenue in the Downsview area, a part of the city that is hungry for transit.

Olivia Chow’s last stop will be at 6:45 p.m. in the community that she’s the most passionate about and where much of her platform regarding youth unemployment is based.

Chow, along with her supporters, will be gathering in the Daniels Spectrum Building, a 60,000-square foot community cultural hub at 585 Dundas Street East in the Regent Park neighbourhood.
