Long-time trustee Howard Goodman was arrested Wednesday and charged with forcible confinement and harassing someone for over a year.

“He has now been released,” says Toronto police spokesperson Jenifferjit Sidhu.

Goodman is scheduled to appear in court on Dec 18.

Goodman has represented the Eglinton-Lawrence ward on the Toronto District School Board since 2003 but did not run for re-election last month.

Scarborough-Agincourt truste Sam Sotiropoulos has openly accused Goodman of harassing and confining the TDSB’s director of education, Donna Quan.

Sotiropoulos details seeing Goodman physically prevent Director Quan from leaving a room in his formal complaint to TDSB chair Chris Bolton.

Sotiropoulos called Goodman’s actions “bullying” and said there was a “culture of fear” at the TDSB.

Bolton did not answer an interview request. .

Representatives of the TDSB also declined to comment on the issue.
