On Nov. 29, Toronto Police issued a public safety alert and are asking for assistance in identifying a potential sex offender in two related incidents.

Police say on the evening of Nov. 5, a woman, 27, was followed by a man into her apartment building at Yonge Street and Wellesley Street. The man followed her into an elevator and proceeded to engage in sexual acts in front of her. He then followed the woman out of the elevator. The woman was able to escape and contacted police.

The second incident occurred on Nov. 6, where a similar incident occurred. A man followed a woman into her apartment building in the Front Street and Bathurst Street area at 10 p.m. He followed the woman in an elevator and engaged in sexual acts. The woman was also able to escape and contacted police.

The man in both incidents is described as white, 5-foot-10 with a medium build. He was wearing light-blue jeans, and a beige suede jacket.

Anyone with tips is asked to contact Toronto Police at 416-808-1400 or at Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS.
