A man was sent to the hospital after being trapped on the tracks at Broadview station Monday.
Paramedics were called to the scene around 10:15 a.m. and worked to free him. A spokesperson for Toronto EMS said information on the condition of the victim could not be released, but he was reported to be conscious by police officials on the scene.
The incident caused a suspension in service on the Bloor-Danforth line between Woodbine and St. George stations.
Service was restored within an hour of the incident at 11:15 a.m.
This was just one of the delays in TTC service during the morning commute. Other delays included a stalled streetcar in the Queen and Neville Park area, a mechanical issue with the 506 Carlton streetcar and a stalled streetcar heading southbound on Bathurst and Adelaide, which delayed the 511 Bathurst streetcar.
The incident and delays came just as Mayor John Tory announced a 10-cent fare hike and free service for children under 12. Tory’s plan is to reduce wait times and crowding during rush hour. The changes become effective March 1.
