Gas station holdup caught on video

Security footage shows two men in Scarborough robbery

Published on

Toronto police have released security footage of two men apparently robbing an Esso gas station with an assault rifle near Kingston and Scarborough Golf Club roads last month.

Men are shown entering the gas station on Dec. 21 at about 10:30 p.m., police say.

One of the men stayed by the front entrance and pointed the rifle at customers and employees. He demanded money and robbed one of the customers inside, police say.

The other man is shown going behind the front counter where he takes money and cigarettes.

The two men are described by police as black, between 20 to 25 years old, about 5 to 6 feet tall, and having thin builds.

The man armed with the rifle in the video is wearing black pants and a black hoodie. The other man has a dark coat with two white stripes around the waist and cuffs and is wearing light blue jeans, white shoes, black gloves and a black paisley print bandana over his face.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7350, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or report online at www.222tips.com.
