Man charged after three stabbed near Maple Leaf Gardens

A 62-year-old man is facing charges of attempt murder after three people were stabbed near Maple Leaf Gardens on Sunday morning.

The incidents happened on Carlton Street at about 8:30 a.m., on Carlton Street.

A female and a male, both in their 20s, suffered stab wounds to their torsos while a male in his 40s suffered a stab wound to his back. All three were sent to hospital.

A fourth person, a woman, was reportedly attacked but not stabbed.

Shawn O’Neill, 62, has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault, six counts of weapons dangerous, six counts of assault with a weapon and four counts of attempted murder.

He is expected to appear in court at Old City Hall today.
