A controversial shock jock is moving from The Edge radio station to Sportsnet 590 Fan.

Dean Blundell will start his new show Dean Blundell & Co. with Andrew Walker from 5:30 to 9 a.m. on Sportsnet, which has announced its broadcasting lineup for the spring.

Blundell was brought to the network because he engages the audience, says Jennifer Neizol, Sportsnet director of communications.

“Deal Blundell is a very talented broadcaster and has a tremendous ability to engage listeners,” Neizol says. “He knows sports, [he] is passionate, entertaining, and is a true fan at heart.”

The move also marks the radio station’s Tim and Sid show moving to television, starting July 1, airing from 5 to 7 p.m on weekdays. The Greg Brady show runs in the afternoon slot from 1 to 4 p.m, and the Jeff Blair Show will be in the morning slot from 9 a.m to noon. Hockey Central will remain in its time slot from noon to 1 p.m.
