Bulldogs acquire Mason Marchment from Otters

The Hamilton Bulldogs have landed some much-needed veteran experience up front.

It was announced Monday that the team has acquired over-age forward Mason Marchment and a fourth-round pick in the OHL Priority Selection from the Erie Otters.

Hamilton gives up two picks in the deal, Sarnia’s third-round and Saginaw’s ninth-round selections.

The 20-year-old is the son of former NHL defenceman Bryan Marchment and suited up in 54 games for the Otters last season, registering eight goals and 18 assists. He added one assist in 10 games in the playoffs.

Bryan Marchment played in the NHL for 18 seasons, amassing 40 goals and 142 assists in 926 games and is currently a scout for the San Jose Sharks.
