Candidates in the federal election are hoping the success of the Blue Jays will not affect their success in the upcoming election.
The Blue Jays will be playing game three of the ALCS division, starting shortly after 8 p.m. on Oct.19.
Voters may need to make the decision on whether to vote or watch the Blue Jays.
Polling stations will close at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 19.
Elections Canada says a record number of Canadians have already voted in the advanced polls. In Ontario, 1.3 million people voted in the advanced polls compared to the 840 thousand in 2011.
The last time the Jays won the World Series was in the midst of a general election in 1993. Jean Chretien and the Liberal Party won a majority government.
Blue Jays will play on election day. I voted in the advance poll! Whew — Steven Sandor (@stevensandor) October 15, 2015
If Elections Canada were smart, they would set up polling stations in front of all bars next Monday

@MLB just FYI, Canada has a federal election next Monday… Please don’t make us choose what to watch #BlueJays #postseason

Is there a chance we can postpone the Federal Election while the @BlueJays keep playing. Pretty sure no one will mind. #ComeTOgether — David Bisson (@BisDaddy5point0) October 14, 2015

When the @BlueJays won the 1993 World Series, there was a federal election. Maybe it is our year to win it all! :) #ComeTogether — Luigi Alberga (@LuigiAlberga) October 5, 2015
