Andrew Coyne announced on Twitter today that he has resigned from his position as editor of editorials and comment at the National Post. This comes after a disagreement with Coyne and Postmedia executives this morning.
The decision came after The National Post decided not to run a column of his, where Coyne dissented from the paper’s support of the Conservative party.
Coyne made full disclosure of the situation in a series of 16 tweets explaining why he had resigned.
So anyway… I have resigned as editor of Editorials and Comment for the National Post, effective immediately. I will remain a columnist.

4. My view was that that was what I was paid to do as a columnist: give my honest opinion on issues of public interest. — Andrew Coyne (@acoyne) October 19, 2015
