One friend dead, one arrested after shooting in Leaside

Manslaughter charge laid after last night's fatal incident

A tragic incident has left one friend in jail and the other in the morgue.

Just before midnight last night the police were called to 111 Rykert Cres.

Police arrived to find Campbell Smith, 24. of Toronto suffering from a gunshot wound and without vital signs. He was rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The police have arrested Conor Colangelo, 24, of Toronto and he faces a charge of manslaughter.

The two were friends, investigators said. Further details of the case have yet to be released.

Colangelo is scheduled to appear in court today at College Park.
