TTC delays are down, but are East Yorkers noticing a difference?
In 2015 the number of minutes TTC vehicles were delayed shrank by 13 percent.
But East Yorkers aren’t necessarily seeing a difference. Joe Park, a student who commutes to the neighborhood says, “There was a delay this morning,” and hasn’t noticed any difference over the past year.
The City of Toronto added an extra $95 million to TTC’s budget last year, and responded by increasing cash fares by 25 cents.
But Park is in favor of the fare hike because “they are underpaid, so everything’s justified.”
TTC needs to actually step up its game this delay is ridiculous.

East York resident Kasia Qyz doesn’t feel the TTC stacks up with subways around the world.
She was just using the subway in New York and says, “It’s not glamorous but the timing of it was a lot faster.”
She purchases a metro pass every month but has looked into getting a car, because the $149 price tag “almost equals what I would pay in (car) insurance.”
