For the first time in franchise history, the Toronto Raptors have won 50 games during the regular season.

The Raptors beat a strong Atlanta Hawks team Wednesday night 105–97.

“This is awesome to witness,” Deshanth Dominic, a lifelong Raptors fan, said.

“This season they beat their franchise record that they broke just last year. Clearly this team is going to be seeing gold sometime soon and I can’t wait,” he said.

The accomplishment comes after consistent performances throughout the year.

Led by NBA all-stars, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, the Raptors hope to carry on the consistency through to the playoffs.

“It’s going to go down in the record books. That’s big and you can never take that away,” DeRozan said.

“We have the opportunity to continue to build on it. That’s honestly the beauty of it,” DeRozan added.

The Raptors currently sit second in a competitive Eastern Conference and have already clinched a spot in the NBA playoffs.

They are set to take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday where they hope to continue their winning ways.
