A blast of cold weather hit Toronto this spring, with ‘old man winter’ digging his heels in the ground.

Environment Canada said the cold weather blast is due to a polar vortex. It is an influx of cold air from the Arctic that brings sub-zero temperatures.

Torontonians have mixed reactions to the frigid weather.

Weather conditions are expected to improve throughout the week to more seasonal temperatures.
