Shoaib Alli: ‘there’ll always be a story’

Shoaib Alli at Olympic Park in Rio
The Olympic Park is emptying but Shoaib Alli is bursting with memories.

I think, for me personally, having gotten to speak to some of the most talented athletes in the world, that was a huge leap forward in my future career.

It instilled a lot of confidence, and helped to learn how to refine questions, how to deal with someone who is either happy or upset, and that’s great for me.

Interacting with journalists who have been in the field for a while, hearing their views on things, also helped to give me a chance to see how the pros do it in the mixed zone, et cetera, which was fantastic.

I’m already thinking about how I can get myself to the 2020 Games in Tokyo, because there’ll always be a story to tell, and new things to experience.
