Ontario’s minimum wage recently increased to $11.40 from $11.25. But supporters of $15 & Fairness, Fight Back, Local4948 and other nonprofit organizations came to Queen Park to say that hourly rate say is not good enough.

Fair hours with full medical coverage and the $15 minimum wage is what people need to have for a decent life in Toronto, said supporters.

“We have to fight for the wealth that is produced by the workers,” one Fight Back member said. “It should be redistributed in social services housing…. We want free education, free transit and guaranteed housing.”
