A 23-year old man is facing six charges after a fatal crash near Toronto’s downtown.

At about 10 p. m. on Monday, a car heading east on Bloor Street near Parliament Street slammed into a pole killing a 25-year-old man and sending a woman to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Another woman with minor injuries is also being treated.

The 23-year-old was driving a 2000 Honda Civic silver with green doors, according to police.

Galeeb Abau-Jabeen is facing six charges, including impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and criminal negligence causing death.

He appeared in court Tuesday morning and will remain in custody before appearing again on Dec. 1.
