A man is dead following a shooting and collision in Vaughn on March 23.
Police said Laquan Lyew had crashed into a poleat Jane St. and Highway 7 and was found to have suffered gunshot wounds.
York Regional Police were called to the crash scene at about 1:30 a.m.
Lyew was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead later that morning.
Local resident Chamman Aggarwal says she is shocked by the event.
“I probably pass this intersection every day, I just can’t believe such a horrific event could happen here,” Aggarwal said.
The incident is being treated as a homicide, police say.
