Five people were arrested after police searched an East York marijuana dispensary on March 28.

They face charges related to possession of a substance, possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceed obtained by crime. One person faces two counts of carrying concealed weapon.

Police executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at Buds For Life on Broadview Avenue at around 5 p.m. According to Const. David Hopkinson, police seized 1146 grams of marijuana, 51.28 grams of shatter, and 21.35 grams of hashish. Police also seized two concealed steel expandable batons and 15,190 dollars.

All individuals were employees of Buds 4 Life and were all present during the search, police say..

Cassandra Hynes Higgins, 26, of Toronto faces charges of possession of a substance (schedule II), two counts of possession of a substance (schedule II) for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of possession of proceeds obtained by crime.

Robertha Johnson, 25, of Toronto, faces charges of possession of a substance (schedule II), possession of a substance (schedule II) for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime.

Victoria Robbins, 23, of Toronto, faces charges of possession of a substance (schedule II), possession of a substance (schedule II) for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime.

Melanie Marshall-Lazou, 25, of Toronto, faces charges of possession of a substance (schedule II), possession of a substance (schedule II) for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime.

Brennan Steinberg, 30, of Toronto, faces charges of possession of a substance (schedule II), possession of a substance (schedule II) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds obtained by crime, and two counts of carry concealed weapon.

Hynes Higgins, Johnson, Robbins, Marshall-Lazou, and Steinberg were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on March 29.
