Police hunt gunman after shots fired

One man arrested, another sought one month after four-man fight

Police are on the hunt for a man after gun shots were fired into the air at King Street West and Brant Street early morning on March 19.

Police say that after a physical fight broke out among four men, one of the men pulled a handgun out and held a 26-year-old man at gunpoint.

The 26-year-old has not yet been identified.

Another 26-year-old man, who has also not been identified pepper, sprayed the alleged gunman, police say.

At that point, the gun was fired into the air, police say. Two men were reported fleeing the scene.

There have been no reports of injuries.

Tharshan Balasingam, 27, was arrested on April 11 and faces three charges including assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace. He is to appear in court on May 15.

Police are still looking for Jayson Jeyakanthan, 25, of Brampton who police describe as the alleged man with the gun.
