An 86-year-old woman using a walker has died after being struck by a Chevrolet pick-up truck near the intersection of Broadview and Mortimer avenues on Tuesday evening.

Toronto police said they received the 911 call at 7:53 p.m. and the woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

Toronto police initially tweeted the woman was in a wheelchair but later said she was using a walker.

Police are investigating the incident.
