Four arrested for violent home invasion near Dawes, Victoria Park

Face total of 22 charges for the break-in late last year

Toronto Police have arrested four men in connection with a violent home invasion on Dawes Road near Victoria Park Avenue. The men face a total of 22 charges for the break-in that occurred late last year.

According to Toronto Police, on Dec. 23, four men arrived at an apartment and forcefully entered when a male occupant opened the door. The men, armed with a rifle and knives, overpowered the two men in the apartment.

A woman, who was also in the apartment, locked herself in a bathroom. One of the men, armed with the rifle, fired a round through the bathroom door. One of the bullets grazed the ear of the woman who was standing on the other side of the door, police say.

Officers arrested three men on the scene of the crime on Dec. 23. A fourth man was arrested Feb. 18.

Face firearm-related charges as well as a forcible confinement charge are Jules Rouillard, 48; Daniel Lavigne, 47; Shawn Dusome, 23, of Toronto; and Jesse Lavigne, 25, of Ajax. Dusome, Daniel Lavigne and Jesse Lavigne also face charges related to violating parole. Jesse Lavigne faces additional charges related to cocaine possession.

Rouillard, Danel Lavigne and Dusome were scheduled to appear in court on at College Park on Feb. 21.

Jesse Lavigne was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Feb. 19.
