Our team of Toronto Observer reporters is out at dozens of Terry Fox 2019 fundraising runs, from Pickering to Hamilton and Markham to the Beaches.

Check out the live blog as we interview participants and organizers in the 38th annual Terry Fox event, about why they are running, and who they’re remembering. #BeLikeTerry #TerryFox.

Fox, who lost a leg to cancer in 1977, ran part way across Canada in 1980 to raise awareness and money for cancer research. He had to stop his Marathon of Hope when his cancer returned in 1980. Fox died in June, 1981. He was 22.
