Alexander Elliot missed the podium in his second race at the 2024 Paralympics, finishing eighth in the 100m butterfly (S10).

The Kitchener, Ont. native finished in 1:00.7, five seconds behind gold medalist Stefano Raimondi.

Ihor Nimchenko, of Ukraine, and Alex Saffy, of Australia, claimed silver and bronze.

In Elliot’s first race in Paris, he had finished ninth in the men’s 100m freestyle heat, and failed to qualify for the final.

Elliot has been a member of Team Canada since 2014, and this is his second Paralympic Games.

At Tokyo 2020, he finished fifth in the men’s 100m final, 400m final, and the 50m freestyle final.

Elliot’s final event at the 2024 Paralympics will be the men’s 200m individual medley, on Saturday.
