Sebastian Massabie’s second quest for a medal at the 2024 Paralympics fell just short on Tuesday evening.
The Surrey, B.C., native finished sixth in the men’s 200m final (S4) in a time of 2:59.15 .
Massabie, 19, started strong through the first 50 metres, sitting second at the turn with a start of 40.07. From there he fell back.
Gold, his second of the Games, went to Ami Omer Dadoan, of Israel, in 2:49.26. Neutral Paralympic Athlete Roman Zhdanov, and Takayuki Suzuki of Japan, took silver and bronze.
Tuesday’s final was Massabie’s second event of the 2024 Paralympics — he finished fifth in the men’s 100m final on Aug.30, in a Canadian Paralympic record of 1:23.80 seconds.
Massabie’s final event will be the men’s 50m freestyle on Friday.
