No sale for excess TDSB lands

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) decided not to sell excess land in order to build more classrooms for students and generate much needed income for the institutes. In the proposed plan, schools with larger plots of land would sell off their unused green spaces in an income-generating attempt. The refusal to sell the lands has left six Toronto school expansions in question, two of which reside in Scarborough.





Food drive does more

One day, Susan Dimitrakopoulos thought to start a Christmas drive for the Scarborough Arts.

“People just don’t need food at Christmas and Thanksgiving,” said Dimitrakopoulos, an administrator and service co-ordinator for Scarborough Arts.

The trees, the bees and conservation

On Nov. 23 the Ontario Forestry Association (OFA) celebrated the 60th anniversary of their yearly Tree Bee event in which grade four to six students took part in a friendly competition to learn more about trees and conservation.
