The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) decided not to sell excess land in order to build more classrooms for students and generate much needed income for the institutes. In the proposed plan, schools with larger plots of land would sell off their unused green spaces in an income-generating attempt. The refusal to sell the lands has left six Toronto school expansions in question, two of which reside in Scarborough.
City council voted “yes” to increase the numbers of Scarborough’s priority centres. The city is also giving free admission not only to children and seniors, but adults as well.
Believe it or not, the GTA has some of the best fishing spots in southern Ontario. Some of these great spots are even in Scarborough.

On Nov. 23 the Ontario Forestry Association (OFA) celebrated the 60th anniversary of their yearly Tree Bee event in which grade four to six students took part in a friendly competition to learn more about trees and conservation.
Elizabeth Comrie is one of eight students at Centennial College’s Ashtonbee campus who formed a group tasked to target something they wanted to change as part of their Power and Social Movement class. The group has started a Change For All campaign, fighting for affordable and spacious daycare facilities.
“(For) people who don’t believe in these natural remedies or alternative medicines, it is good idea to see and experience it,” participant Yuri Ito said.
