A Toronto police officer, 11 Division Supt. Heinz Kuck, travelled over 250 kilometres this winter through Algonquin Park, in freezing temperatures, by dogsled to raise money for Victim Services Toronto, a charity helping those affected by crime and violence. This is more than twice the distance he travelled last year during his first dogsledding fundraiser.
Dozens of music loving teens, alongside some local bands, raised the volume, and put heir hands in the air, on Jan. 31. The event raised $600 towards international development.
The game may have ended in a disappointing 52-20 loss for the women’s basketball team at the University of Toronto Scarborough but the mood was still positive. This wasn’t just any game, after all. Organized by Give 1NE, the basketball game was co-ordinated to help raise money for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
