Birch Cliff community queries developer of quarry

The land known as the Birch Cliff Quarry Lands is at the heart of confrontation between the community and two real-estate developers seeking to change the landscape of the area. One of the developers, The Conservatory Group has already decided what it's going to build. The other, Build Toronto, met with the community to get feedback on their plan.

When Kim Holman and her husband built the Beach Fairway Golf Range at Victoria Park Avenue just south of Danforth Avenue in 1999, their children weren't born yet. Thirteen years later, Holman said she's had to explain to her two daughters, now 9 and 7 years old, why they had to leave the golf range they grow up with.
