New E.Y. Civic Centre solar panels generate enough to power 10 homes

The East York Civic Centre has long been a place from where power emanates. That's never been more true than now. The Civic Centre's roof is sporting recently installed solar panels, which generate approximately 40 kilowatts of electricity, or enough to power about 10 medium- to large-sized homes, according to project manager Rob Maxwell.

Symposium series aims to clear the air on climate change

When Peter Love set out to explain the connection between climate change and new electricity conservation regulations in Ontario, he knew the importance of keeping it simple. “I don’t give many numbers when I talk to people,” he said from the podium, “A lot of people, I know, are confused (about climate change).”
