Fund the TTC Day of Action Feb. 6, 2020

Feeling like sardines on a bus or train? Frustrated because of signal problems during rush hour? Not feeling safe on transit? A protest by TTCRiders held February 6, 2020
called on commuters to demand more funding from their local city councillors for the TTC in the 2020 city budget. It took place in five subway stations: Dufferin, Kennedy, Lawrence West, St. George and Coxwell, between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., except at St. George, where it took place in the morning between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Plan to direct bridge-building funds to playground nixed

A request to redirect funds intended for a Scarborough pedestrian bridge to playground equipment instead was turned down at an April 5 city budget meeting. The proposal was made by Coun. Glenn De Baeremaeker when it was revealed the 2003 plans to build the 25-metre bridge had gone nowhere.
