The GTA needs a 21st century transportation infrastructure

The TTC released that the projected ridership is expected to increase to 503 million next year. At the end of 2010 there were 477 million rides, up from a projected 462 million rides. With these figures wouldn’t it be fair to understand that transportation at all levels is going to increase?

New eco-friendly community centre faces parking concerns

Some Ward 35 residents aren’t ready to fully embrace the environmentally friendly plans for the soon-to-open Warden Hilltop Community Centre. Concerns were raised last Wednesday at a community meeting meeting in the cafeteria of W.A. Porter Collegiate about the number of parking spaces and programming at the new community centre.

Some TDSB art headed to AGO should hang in schools: Trustee

Pieces of the Toronto District School Board’s multimillion-dollar art collection are leaving home, but at least one trustee hopes they’ll be back for a visit. “The AGO is a wonderful environment for us to have the artwork in, but it would be even nicer if we can actually have some of these artworks in the schools,” said Scarborough Southwest trustee Gary Crawford.
