Fraser Institute rankings may be off the mark

Scarborough secondary rankings schools score an average grade of 5.3 out of 10, according to the recently released Fraser Institute School Rankings. Though some schools in the area rated poorly, the Institute said the study isn’t meant to be a comprehensive indication of a school’s success. And some Scarborough principals agree.

In the Fraser Institute School Rankings, released last week, Scarborough secondary schools averaged a score of about 5.5 out of 10. Though some schools in the area were rated poorly, the Institute says that the study isn’t meant to be a comprehensive indication of a school’s success. Some Scarborough principals agree that it doesn’t serve as a representation of how well their school is doing.

TDSB considering TVs for 70 schools

Critics say high school students don’t need any more distractions. But 70 Toronto District School Board high schools may soon have large, new television screens in their halls. The plan is one the board is set to consider this month and has already tested in four schools.
