On Oct 6. Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker held a Cutest Dog Contest at Thomson Memorial Park. Scarborough residents brought their canine companions to the dog park and entered them into some friendly competitions including cutest dog (small, medium and large), longest tail, best dressed, dogs who look like their owners and of course, best trick.
A city committee will consider a proposal next week to implement off-leash dog hours in early mornings and late nights in select local parks.
If you are a Scarborough resident and have a dog, you should know the city is cracking down on off-leash dogs. But fret not, there are dog parks in the community. The parks are fenced in and the dogs can be off-leash and free to play without the fear of fines … or worse.
