TAMPA, Fla. - Growing up in the Florida town of West Palm Beach to parents who played softball, Josie Foreman developed a passion for playing the sport. Particularly, to become a catcher.
Sophomore softball player Bethaney Keen has her eyes on the prize – the Olympics and the Women’s College World Series - while training at University of South Florida’s facilities on Thursday.
It’s been two years since Meredith Bissette’s last softball game in a University of South Florida Bulls uniform, but her presence with the team hasn’t faded.
Bissette was diagnosed with chordoma cancer in 2016. The disease can present anywhere along the spine and although the tumors are normally slow to progress they are relentless and can recur after treatment.
TAMPA, Fla. – You may not immediately think of a group of doctors when you look at a softball team.
Then again, you might not be Amber Atkinson, catcher for the University of South Florida varsity team.
